La II domenica di Quaresima pone sempre al centro del nostro sguardo la Trasfigurazione di Gesù. Anche noi siamo invitati a fissare gli occhi su di lui e sulla sua gloria pasquale (Vangelo). La potremo contemplare nella sua profondità e bellezza solo a condizione di saper ascoltare, insieme a Gesù, tutte le Scritture, simboleggiate da Mosè ed Elìa. In questo anno B del ciclo domenicale, l’invito a volgersi verso il Trasfigurato assume un significato particolare proprio nella luce delle Scritture, in particolare di quei testi che ascoltiamo come prima e seconda lettura di questa celebrazione. Veniamo così sollecitati a riconoscere in Gesù co-lui che il Padre offre in dono per la nostra salvezza. Dio ferma Abramo mentre sta per sacrificare Isacco (I Lettura). Non è un uomo a dover offrire il proprio figlio a Dio. È Dio stesso che, come ricorda Paolo ai Romani, «non ha risparmiato il proprio Figlio, ma lo ha consegnato per tutti noi». In lui ci donerà ogni altro bene. La gloria di Dio che traspare e si irradia da Gesù sul Tabor è la gloria di un amore che tutto dona – persino il proprio Figlio – perché possiamo essere giustificati – resi cioè di nuovo giusti – e ricolmi di tutti i doni di Dio.
