Gli angeli, che nel cielo sono in servizio dei disegni di Dio, ci insegnano a santificare il nome di Dio, facendo la sua volontà, come diciamo nel Padre nostro: «come in cielo così in terra». Anche l’uomo deve mettere tutto il suo impegno perché nella terra si rispecchi il cielo, trasformandola in “regno di Dio”. Ebbene, poiché gli uomini sono «predestinati ad essere conformi all’immagine del Figlio suo» (II lettura), ossia “figli nel Figlio”, noi realizziamo il regno nella misura in cui viviamo la filiazione divina. È proprio la “filiazione divina” il tesoro nascosto, la perla di grande valore. Coloro che hanno scoperto questo non hanno altra alternativa, consapevoli che “gli averi” dei quali non ci volessimo privare per timore di impoverirci, ci trasformano in pesci cattivi da buttare (Vangelo). Le tre similitudini del “regno dei cieli” – il tesoro, la perla e la rete – si completano a vicenda. Discepoli di Gesù sono coloro che comprendono queste cose e che gli dicono: “sì”. Quanta sapienza c’è in questo “sì”! Come modello ci viene proposto Salomone, che non si è lasciato ingannare dal desiderio di una lunga vita, della ricchezza o della vittoria sui nemici (I lettura).
