La Pesca miracolosa è un dipinto a tempera su carta ed è uno dei cartoni preparatori per gli arazzi della Cappella Sistina. Il cartone riflette specularmente la scena dell’arazzo, per la tecnica a basso liccio in cui i modelli sono tenuti sotto l’ordito, che poi viene rovesciato. La scena si ispira a un passo del Vangelo di Luca (V, 4 e ss.) ed è quasi interamente riferita alla mano del maestro. La scena va letta da destra, dove gli apostoli, legando gesti e sguardi, conducono l’occhio dello spettatore verso la figura di Cristo. Tutto è ambientato in un vasto e luminoso paesaggio, con fini notazioni naturalistiche: il paese in riva al lago, i pesci vividi nelle barche dei pescatori, la flora e la fauna lacustre, soprattutto i tre aironi in primo piano. Raffaello, consapevole del confronto con Michelangelo in Cappella, impostò i disegni con un crescendo drammatico, dove le figure prevalgono sul paesaggio e sull’architettura di sfondo, contrapponendosi in gruppi o in personaggi isolati, per facilitare la lettura delle azioni. Gli schemi sono dunque semplificati e i gesti e la mimica dei personaggi enfatizzati, per renderli più eloquenti e “universali”. A differenza di Michelangelo però la monumentalità non deriva dal tormento plastico delle figure, ma da equilibri accuratamente studiati, che bilanciano la composizione e i sussulti spirituali dei protagonisti, nonostante le volute asimmetrie. L’uso della tempera, in tonalità chiare, andò incontro alla ristretta gamma a disposizione degli arazzieri, così come sono un adattamento allo scopo le grandi masse di luci ed ombre.
La bellezza, la verità, il bene, la sapienza, la conoscenza, la natura, la gioia, il dolore, l’amicizia, l’amore e tante altre circostanze e situazioni possono darci l’occasione per scoprire e incontrare il Signore.
La rivelazione di Dio, la storia della salvezza, l’incontro con la Parola contenuta nella Sacra Scrittura, la vita delle persone che hanno avuto fede in Dio ci portano a considerare e a confrontare
- la grandezza, la santità, la misericordia e l’amore di Dio
- con la nostra piccolezza, la nostra imperfezione, la durezza del nostro cuore e il nostro egoismo.
6Cercate il Signore, mentre si fa trovare, invocatelo, mentre è vicino.
7L’empio abbandoni la sua via e l’uomo iniquo i suoi pensieri;
ritorni al Signore che avrà misericordia di lui e al nostro Dio che largamente perdona.
8Perché i miei pensieri non sono i vostri pensieri,
le vostre vie non sono le mie vie. Oracolo del Signore.
9Quanto il cielo sovrasta la terra, tanto le mie vie sovrastano le vostre vie,
i miei pensieri sovrastano i vostri pensieri. (Is. 55)
Questo confronto tra Dio e l’uomo lo ritroviamo sia nella vocazione dei discepoli (vangelo)
Al vedere questo, Simon Pietro si gettò alle ginocchia di Gesù, dicendo: «Signore, allontànati da me, perché sono un peccatore».
sia della vocazione di Isaia (1 lettura)
«Ohimè! Io sono perduto, perché un uomo dalle labbra impure io sono
e in mezzo a un popolo dalle labbra impure io abito;
eppure i miei occhi hanno visto il re, il Signore degli eserciti».
[ letteralmente “il Signore delle schiere” che secondo varie interpretazioni potrebbero essere le schiere celesti cioè gli angeli o le stelle. Quindi un richiamo alla signoria universale di Dio. Perciò una migliore traduzione potrebbe essere: “il Signore dell’universo”. E’ la traduzione usata nella liturgia per l’acclamazione del “Santo, Santo Santo, il Signore, Dio dell’universo” ]
Ma il pensiero, il progetto di Dio non è quello di formare dei “corpi di elite”, dei circoli esclusivi di persone perfette. Gesù è venuto a portare la salvezza a tutti gli uomini che crederanno in Lui.
Dio vuole che tutti gli uomini siano salvati e arrivino alla conoscenza della verità. (1 Tim 2,4)
Il Signore mi disse: “È troppo poco che tu sia mio servo
per restaurare le tribù di Giacobbe e ricondurre i superstiti di Israele.
Ma io ti renderò luce delle nazioni perché porti la mia salvezza
fino all’estremità della terra“. (Is 49,6)
Egli accoglie tutti, specialmente peccatori, piccoli e semplici che agli occhi degli uomini non contano nulla, ma che sono preziosi agli occhi di Dio.
Gesù rispose: “Non sono i sani che hanno bisogno del medico, ma i malati;
io non sono venuto a chiamare i giusti, ma i peccatori a convertirsi“. (Lc 5,31-32)
Forse che io ho piacere della morte del malvagio – dice il Signore Dio – o non piuttosto che desista dalla sua condotta e viva? (Ez 18,23)
Tra i figli di Iesse il Signore scelse, come re di Israele, non il più grande, ma il più piccolo che non era stato neppure preso in considerazione ed era stato lasciato a pascolare il gregge
[7] Il Signore rispose a Samuele: “Non guardare al suo aspetto né all’imponenza della sua statura. Io l’ho scartato, perché io non guardo ciò che guarda l’uomo. L’uomo guarda l’apparenza, il Signore guarda il cuore“.
[11] Samuele chiese a Iesse: “Sono qui tutti i giovani?”. Rispose Iesse: “Rimane ancora il più piccolo che ora sta a pascolare il gregge”. Samuele ordinò a Iesse: “Manda a prenderlo, perché non ci metteremo a tavola prima che egli sia venuto qui”.
[12] Quegli mandò a chiamarlo e lo fece venire. Era fulvo, con begli occhi e gentile di aspetto. Disse il Signore: “Alzati e ungilo: è lui!”. (1 Sam 16)
Se c’è la disponibilità al progetto di Dio, allora il Signore potrà cambiare la vita e compiere cose grandi in quella persona nonostante le sue imperfezioni, le sue incoerenze e i suoi peccati.
Ed ecco l’intervento di Dio che cambia la vita di Isaia: diventerà uno dei grandi Profeti dell’Antico Testamento
«Ecco, questo ha toccato le tue labbra, perciò è scomparsa la tua colpa e il tuo peccato è espiato».
Poi io udii la voce del Signore che diceva: «Chi manderò e chi andrà per noi?». E io risposi: «Eccomi, manda me!».
Allo stesso modo Gesù interviene per Pietro e gli altri che erano con Lui.
Non saranno più pescatori di pesci, ma “pescatori di uomini”.
Diventeranno gli Apostoli e saranno, nonostante le incoerenze,
le imperfezioni e i peccati, le colonne che reggeranno l’edificio della chiesa: la comunità dei discepoli di Gesù.
Gesù disse a Simone: «Non temere; d’ora in poi sarai pescatore di uomini».
E, tirate le barche a terra, lasciarono tutto e lo seguirono.
Anche noi, peccatori, siamo chiamati da Dio a fare cose grandi nella fede.
Benedetto sia Dio, Padre del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo, che ci ha benedetti con ogni benedizione spirituale nei cieli, in Cristo.
In lui ci ha scelti prima della creazione del mondo, per essere santi e immacolati al suo cospetto nella carità, predestinandoci a essere suoi figli adottivi per opera di Gesù Cristo, secondo il beneplacito della sua volontà. (Ef 1,3-6)
Anche noi siamo chiamati a “non temere” come Maria e come Pietro:
L’angelo le disse: “Non temere, Maria, perché hai trovato grazia presso Dio. (Lc 1,30)
[Giairo] stava ancora parlando quando venne uno della casa del capo della sinagoga a dirgli: “Tua figlia è morta, non disturbare più il maestro”. Ma Gesù che aveva udito rispose: “Non temere, soltanto abbi fede e sarà salvata”. (Lc 8,49-50)
Non cercate perciò che cosa mangerete e berrete, e non state con l’animo in ansia:
di tutte queste cose si preoccupa la gente del mondo; ma il Padre vostro sa che ne avete bisogno.
Cercate piuttosto il regno di Dio, e queste cose vi saranno date in aggiunta.
Non temere, piccolo gregge, perché al Padre vostro è piaciuto di darvi il suo regno. (Lc 12,29-32)
Dio di infinita grandezza,
che affidi alle nostre labbra impure
e alle nostre fragili mani
il compito di portare agli uomini l’annunzio dell’Evangelo,
sostienici con il tuo Spirito, perché la tua parola,
accolta da cuori aperti e generosi,
fruttifichi in ogni parte della terra.
